Avukat olmadan önce, Çağlar Coşkunsu önde gelen denizcilik şirketlerinin konteyner ve dökme yük gemilerinde kaptanlık yapmıştır. Daha sonrasında deniz uyuşmazlıkları ile ilgili olmak üzere çalıştığı denizcilik şirketinin kara bölümünde Sigorta ve Hasar Bölümü’ne yönetici olarak terfi etmiştir. Özellikle P&I Kulüplerinin taraf olduğu uyuşmazlıklar üzerinde çalışmıştır. İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesinden mezun olduktan sonra, deniz hukuku alanında Southampton Üniversitesi’nde yüksek Lisans yapmıştır. Ayrıca, Londra’da uluslararası hukuk firmaları, sigorta şirketleri, P&I Kulüpleri, kurtarma acentası, eksper, yardım acentelerinin ofislerinde çalışmıştır.
İstanbul Barosu’na kabul edildikten sonra, deniz hukuku ve sigorta hukuku alanında Türk ve yabancı müvekkillerine hukuki danışmanlık hizmeti verdiği Cavus & Coskunsu Avukatlık Ortaklığını kurmuştur. Müvekkillerini Türk mahkemeleri ile yerli ve yabancı tahkim yargılamalarında temsil etmektedir.
Before becoming a qualified lawyer, Mr. Coskunsu served as second officer and chief officer on container vessels and bulk carriers of a major shipping company. He was later promoted to onshore management as manager of claim and insurance department. He was particularly involved in P&I Club matters. Mr. Coskunsu graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law and he has a LLM degree in Maritime Law from University of Southampton. He worked in the offices of international law firms, insurers, P&I Clubs, salvage brokers, adjusters and recovery agents in London. Upon admission to Istanbul Bar Association, he founded Cavus & Coskunsu Law Firm. He provides legal assistance to Turkish and foreign clients in every aspect of maritime law and insurance law. He represent clients in resolution of complex disputes before Turkish courts and national and international arbitration proceedings.
